For this article to be of help it would have to be focused on this audience. The lure is to write it from an IA stand point but then you would talking to Marketers not the community on this site of UX, IA, etc professionals.

A basic premise of IA is to know the audience you are helping find and use certain information. I agree that Marketers should be tapped to support such an article.
