flensed (http://www.flensed.com/) is a family of projects, with CheckPlayer and flXHR now released, which leverages the powerful combination of Flash+Javascript to solve many common web author problems, such as direct cross-domain communication and Flash Player plugin detection/updating.

***COMPARISON UPDATE***
I have updated flXHR’s home page and FAQ with detailed information comparing flXHR to 4 other flash-AJAX type solutions out there: Fjax, SWFHttpRequest, FlashXMLHttpRequest, and F4A.
Through the comparisons, I show how flXHR is more advanced, more stable and robust, more flexible, and more secure than those other choices.
