Shara Rosenbalm

Combine design, nerd, and humor, and you have Shara. She’s a Digital Product Designer at Dialexa, a technology services firm that designs and engineers custom products and platforms. Shara graduated with a BFA in Visual Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also has an MFA in Media Design from Full Sail University and recently became a certified UX Designer courtesy of Southern Methodist University’s certificate program. When she’s not working, you can find Shara blazing through books or working on one of her many passion projects in support of BIPOC in tech. She’s also a huge fan of watching true crime documentaries with her husband Ryan and their three girls. Ask her any true crime trivia and she’ll likely know it. It’s her secret talent.

Shawn Smith

Shawn Smith

is a Senior Information Architect at Avenue A | Razorfish. Previously, he managed a User Experience design team at Vodafone, where he was part of the team that created the first prototypes for Vodafone's mobile data services portal (Vodafone Live!). He also co-managed the development of Vodafone's first set of mobile interaction design guidelines for developers. Fun fact: He is Shawn Smith VII in the Internet Movie Database.

He helps clients leverage digital technologies to develop meaningful and value driven customer and employee relationships. Stephen P Anderson

Stephen P. Anderson is an internationally recognized speaker and consultant based out of Dallas, Texas. He created the Mental Notes card deck, a tool that's widely used by product teams to apply psychology to interaction design. He’s also of the author of the book Seductive Interaction Design, which explores this topic of psychology and design in more detail. Prior to venturing out on his own, Stephen spent more than a decade building and leading teams of information architects, interaction designers and UI developers. He’s designed Web applications for technology startups as well as corporate clients like Nokia, Frito-Lay, Sabre Travel Network, and Chesapeake Energy. Between public speaking and project work, Stephen offers workshops and training to help organizations manage creative teams, make use of visual thinking, and design better customer experiences.

Steve Baty, principal at Meld Studios, has over 14 years experience as a design and strategy practitioner. Steve is well-known in the area of experience strategy and design, contributing to public discourse on these topics through articles and conferences. Steve serves as a Director of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA); is a regular contributor to UXMatters.com; serves as an editor and contributor to Johnny Holland (johnnyholland.org), and is the founder of UX Book Club – a world-wide initiative bringing together user experience practitioners in over 80 locations to read, connect and discuss books on user experience design. Steve is co-Chair of UX Australia – Australia’s leading conference for User Experience practitioners; and Chair of Interaction 12 – the annual conference of the IxDA for 2012. Steve has, over the past six years, led teams to develop online strategies and experience architectures for clients across a broad spread of industries including: tourism, travel, transport, consumer electronics, manufacturing, government, and the arts. Steve holds post-graduate degrees in electronic commerce (M.Ec) and business administration (MBA) from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management; and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (Physical Mathematics & Applied Statistics) from UTS.

Steve MacLaughlin is the practice manager of Blackbaud Interactive and is responsible for leading how Blackbaud delivers Internet solutions for its clients. Steve is a ten-year veteran of building successful online initiatives with a broad range of Fortune 500 firms, government and educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Before joining Blackbaud, Steve led award-winning online projects with clients such as the American College of Sports Medicine, BMW of North America, Carrier Corporation, Dow Chemical, Eli Lilly, Finish Line, Indiana University, Masco Corporation, NCAA, Roche, Thomson, and Verizon. Since joining Blackbaud, Steve has been focused on leveraging his experience to help clients develop successful integrated communication solutions. He has been recognized by the ePhilanthropy Foundation as an ePhilanthropy Master Training and is a frequent speaker on a variety of technology issues. Steve earned both his undergraduate degree and a Master of Science degree in interactive media from Indiana University.

After winning the award for most unemployable graduate with a degree in Fine Art and Philosophy, Stuart quickly moved into digital and worked for a number of creative agencies before ending up at Detica Creative, an NMA Top 5, London-based Interactive Agency. Stuart is a digital art director with a strong background in art, design and digital media. He combines creative expertise with thorough business and customer understanding to create award-winning digital experiences.

Tal has been working in the digital and consulting spaces since 2001 under such titles as experience designer, information architect and business analyst. He has a passion for creating elegant solutions to complex business problems. With unwavering ethical integrity and using purpose as a guiding light, he’s consistently helped the people and businesses with whom he engages embrace change and grow in healthy and sustainable ways. In 2007 he embarked on becoming observant in chassidic orthodox Judaism and became steeped in the Jewish mystical tradition. Before then he was trained in many modalities of healing, performed extensive research into the spectrum of philosophies and psychology, and graduated with first class honours from his engineering degree, in which he learnt advanced science. He believes deeply in the human-centred approach, finds working with empathy meaningful and cherishes seeing his peers and clients happy :-)
